My beautiful wife Karen and I are overjoyed that her pregnancy has gone so well for her and our first baby has been such a good boy so far. I’ve been waiting patiently for the times where I would get my first shot at some creative maternity portraits. There will be more to come and I’m excited we’re within a few weeks of meeting our new family member.

It’s fun to come up with different ways to accentuate the bump, and what better way than with beauty itself.

For this shot I used two studio strobes with 9 degree honeycomb grids as back lights and an ABR 800 Ringflash fitted with a softbox just left of me.

This photo was taken with an ABR 800 Ringflash fitted with a softbox positioned right over my right shoulder. This is a very bright room so there was also some natural light bouncing around off the bright furniture and walls.
